At the Foot of Jacob's Ladder
Note: I wrote this poem after reading "The Jacob's Ladder" by Denise Levertov.

It is a treacherous thing,
to go climbing with angels--
they make it look so easy.
Perhaps I should just sit
and watch for a while,
letting my heart make the ascent.
